Healthcare Hygiene magazine partnered with the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) to develop a three-day virtual symposium that explored imperatives relating to the needs of the sterile processing department, collaboration with infection prevention and control stakeholders, and communication with the hospital C-suite leadership.

This symposium, held Oct. 11-13, 2022 during Sterile Processing Week, offers 6 FREE contact hours of continuing education* for sterile processing professionals, nurses and other healthcare practitioners. This virtual symposium sessions will be available on demand here through Spring 2023.

* Healthcare Hygiene magazine/Keystone Media Inc. is an approved provider #17500 of the California Board of Registered Nurses.

• Addressing SPD knowledge and skills gaps through education and training

• Joint Commission and AAMI standards; how TJC surveyors interpret the standards, including those under the new ST91: 2021, during site visits and ensure the standards and best practices are being consistently followed

• Identifying SPD needs through infection prevention and control risk assessment processes
