IP&C Field Guide

Introducing the IP&C Field Guide

Keystone Media Inc. (publisher of Healthcare Hygiene magazine) and Keystone Continuing Education, LLC offer the IP&C Field Guide™ as a unique way to educate healthcare professionals and other key stakeholders on the principles and practices of infection prevention and control (IP&C). By using a theme of the outdoors and positioning IP&C as an adventurous journey, it adds a touch of whimsy to make it fun and engaging; all parallels to the outdoors are not to be construed as a clinical construct, but to help users have fun with IP&C while they learn important concepts related to driving patient and healthcare personnel safety.

This spiral-bound booklet is sized to fit the pocket of a white coat, easily accessible for reference throughout the day

Why was the IP&C Field Guide™ created?

Controlling and preventing infections might just be one of the most adventurous aspects of healthcare delivery.

There is adventure, discovery, mystery, and perhaps even a little danger involved, but nothing that is insurmountable if an infection preventionist (IP) is prepared for the rigors of this responsibility.

The IP&C Field Guide™ is your roadmap to mastering infection prevention and control principles and practices, in a fun and interesting concept that is unique to the healthcare sector.

The IP&C Field Guide™ is designed for three levels of comprehension

The first edition in the series of Field Guides™ to be released in October 2025 is the Scout Edition, created for the new IP or the IP who does not have a clinical background. Two more editions, the Explorers and the Adventurers editions, will be aimed at the intermediate and advanced IPs, respectively.

The IP&C Field Guide™ is designed to explain key clinical concepts

Using the analogy of nature expeditions, the IP&C Field Guide™ offers science-driven information and best practices related to improving IP&C performance.
